Review: Every Bitter Thing is Sweet by Sara Hagerty

Pre-Order on Amazon: Release date Oct. 7, 2014

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Have you ever read a book that hits you so hard where you're at that you have to put it down and only read small amounts at a time for fear that all of your dark areas will be exposed? That's how this book was for me. Uncovering the truth of who God is in your situation is hard, writing a book that others who are going through can relate to is even harder. I'm so glad that I had an opportunity to read this book. My journey is  better for having experienced this.

Damien is a dominant looking to play. Never one for missing an opportunity, he spots Poppy at a party and quickly learns that she's a switch. Poppy isn't what he's used to but he's so intrigued by her that he pushes past his reservations and engages her in a session that sets their passions on fire.

Poppy is a switch and as is their nature, she's most comfortable playing both sides of the table but with Damien things are different. Not sure why her feelings for him ignite desires that go against her standards, she takes the risk to explore where their relationship can go.

On premise I like this story but there's something about it that keeps me from saying its a hit. While I'm not in the lifestyle, I've read enough BDSM to know that this book just scratches the surface of what the connection between a dominant and submissive is. I wouldn't go so far as to say don't read it but I would say that at the end I felt as though something was missing in Damien and Poppy's interactions that would have made their relationship more "real" for me.

Review: Ignited by J. Kenner

This is the story that I've been waiting for! I'm a J. Kenner fan and she did not disappoint with this latest installment in the "Most Wanted" series. Cole August is a mystery that Kat can't resist. She risks exposing her hand for the opportunity to get closer to the man who has been the source of her fantasies. Together their chemistry is explosive but Cole has a thousand reasons to keep Kat at arms length. Their journey to one another will keep you lost in the pages of this erotic romance.

Review: Unstoppable by Melody Grace

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review....

We all have our secrets, things in our past that haunt us and make us a little more wary of the world. Ryland and Tegan are no different. Each have their reasons for running away from their respective worlds but as fate would have it, all of their running has led them right to one another.

Melody Grace has written another great love story full over conquering demons and finding love where you least expect it. Through their passion, both Ryland and Tegan learned that even in weakness they can be strong,,, even if its just for one another.

Ultimate Sins by Lora Leigh

Sizzling sex and heart-stopping intrigue await the reader in the pages of Ultimate Sins by Lora Leigh.

Amelia Sorenson has lived a life that no young woman should have to endure. Each day is an exercise in survival at the hands of her abusive father. In spite of having to be concerned with her own well-being, Amelia focuses her energies on protecting the people that her father, Wayne,  has set out to destroy through his position of power in their small town.

Crowe Callahan and his family have been victims of Amelia's father in more ways than they can imagine. Teaming together to fight Wayne and the destruction that he is hell-bent on delivering, Amelia and Wayne uncover a passion that can never survive the uncertainties of their future. Only time will tell if Amelia is too broken to endure a life loving Crowe and if the tragedies of life have made Crowe too hard-hearted to experience love.

This book is full of both tragedy and redemption. Through some of the most horrific experiences, a family is formed and it's members do whatever is necessary in order to ensure that nobody will be forced to suffer as they have.

Magnolia Lane by Rochelle Alers

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fans of Rochelle Alers' signature writing style will not be disappointed by this return to Cavanaugh Island in "Magnolia Drive". Francine Tanner has returned to Sanctuary Cove after leaving the bright lights of New York where she was an aspiring actress. In her small hometown she finds comfort in the love of her family and satisfaction as a hair stylist in the family salon. The one thing that she is missing is the spark of romance that her childhood girlfriends seem to have found in abundance.

Enter Keaton Grace; an accomplished independent film maker from California, Grace has identified Sanctuary Cove as the perfect place to put down roots and open a new film studio. His encounter with the lovely Francine is a bonus that he had not counted on. Both Francine and Keaton have their secrets and past to overcome. The question is whether or not they can overcome these things and find a life together.

Rochelle Alers has written another touching love story where readers can identify with real life issues regardless of their station in life.

What's Done in the Dark by Reshonda Tate Billingsley

Received an ARC from Netgalley and Gallery Books.

That old saying, "what's done in the dark will come out in the light" is so appropriate for this book. Reshonda Tate Billingsley has written a book that will have you on the edge of your seat saying "girl don't do it!".

Felise, Greg, Paula and Steven are each plagued with issues that they have overlooked and ignored for years. When those issues catch up to them they are caught in a mess that leads them down a road of consequences that none of them expected.

What's Done in the Dark is a well-written book where the characters must all deal with the fall out of their actions and find redemption in the truth that sets us all free.
